Jo-Ann Christen is an accomplished Trombonist and Conductor. She holds a Masters of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music (NYC) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair State University, New Jersey, in Music Education. Her performance experience includes New Jersey Symphony (13 years), soloist with the New Jersey Youth Band of the Salvation Army during their Sweden and Denmark tour, and a Carnegie Recital Hall concert with the Festival Brass Quintet. She has performed locally with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera (Ring Cycle), and the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. Her conducting posts include Rain City Symphony (25 years), Seattle Civic Band, Midsummer Musical Retreat (founding conductor), Rainbow City Band, Boeing Band and Orchestra, and Rain City Women's Chorus. Jo-Ann is pleased to be invited to solo with her beloved Rain City Symphony and to join in friendship to create beautiful music.
