Teresa's Bonus and Contract for Next Year
The amount of Teresa's bonus was approved by the Board members. Teresa has accepted the contract for next year.

Spring Quarter Wrap-up and Summer Plans
The Spring concert at the National Nordic Museum went off without a hitch. The soloist perform very well. We will be looking into playing at the Museum again next year.
Gennie has booked a spot at Magnuson Park for a potluck picnic. It is scheduled for Sunday, August 27th at 6:00 pm. Rain City Symphony will be providing the napkins, plates, and utensils.

Treasurer’s Report June 14, 2023
Bruce submitted the following report:
To be finalized after June 30. I’ve included known June expenses such as Teresa’s salary and bonus in these figures.
This is a summary of last year's Net worth, Expenses and Income.
Net Worth 7/1/2021 --- $31,007.63
Expenses FY 2022 --- ($21,622.16)
Income FY 2022 --- $23,923.51
Net Worth 6/30/2022 --- $33,308.98

We started the year with $33,308.98, which included a grant from 4Culture, which we still have not received.
This fiscal year summary is as follows:
Net Worth 7/1/2022 --- $33,308.98
Expenses FY 2023 --- ($20,309.62)
Income FY 2023 --- $16,551.54
Net Worth 6/30/2023 --- $29,550.90

Unlike the previous year, you can see that our income was well below our expenses and that both expenses and income were less than the previous year.
The income was more in 2022 due to grants primarily.

This is the 2nd year of only donations and no dues. I’ll let Anne let us know overall how many gave and what their average was.

Our budget for next year will be similar to this year's, with an increase to Teresa. I think we are on good financial footing, but we will need to get some grants to stay in the positive range financially. We have plenty of money going forward, but will need to enhance our income.

I will commit to having better electronic means for concert donations such as a code that can be scanned by phone. Now that I think of it, having one of those at rehearsals might not be a bad idea either.

Grant Status and Fundraising
We are still waiting on the King County grant. The amount we will receive is still unsure.

Possible Attendance Policy
Below is Teresa's proposed Rain City Symphony absence policy.

Proposed Rain City Symphony Absence Policy

In order to attain the desired level of unified ensemble playing, accuracy of intonation, and nuanced dynamics, the following absence policy is proposed for Rain City Symphony.

Prior to the beginning of each quarter, each musician will assess whether they can attend their assigned rehearsals with no more than three (3) absences. If they have conflicts for three (3) or more assigned rehearsals, they will take a leave of absence for that quarter.

Once a quarter begins, if a musician playing a doubled part is absent for three (3) assigned rehearsals, they will take a leave of absence for the remainder of the quarter.

Once a quarter begins, if a musician playing a non-doubled part is absent for three (3) assigned rehearsals, they will take a leave of absence and will be responsible for finding a replacement for their part for the remainder of the quarter.

(The designation of “assigned” rehearsal acknowledges that there are some instruments that are not scheduled to rehearse in every rehearsal.)

Next Board Meeting
The next Board Meeting is the Summer retreat. The meeting will be on Monday, August 14th at Doug's house at 6:00 pm.
