Agenda Items:
1) New Logo: Michael Graubard appeared on Zoom and presented the design of the new Rain City logo. It was approved.
2) Recap of June 11 Concert: The concert raised over $4,000 and was attended by 200 people.
3) Strategic Planning: Val Courtney led us in a one-hour session of strategic planning. We choose five Values that were the most important for the orchestra to strive for. We also worked on a Vision of what Rain City wants to be known for ten years from now.
4) May Minutes: The May minutes were approved as amended and are available on the Rain City website.
5) Rehearsal Schedule: The rehearsal schedule for next season has been approved, and is posted on the website. We are working on finding a rehearsal space for Holy Week when our usual space is unavailable.
6) The 2025 – 2026 Season: Teresa presented “A Season of Favorites,” the programming for the Fall, Winter and Spring concerts. The music is listed on the Rain City website.
7) RCS Board Retreat: The Board will meet August 9 to discuss these items and more: 1) a work plan for the coming fiscal year, 2) new ways to recruit concert volunteers, 3) financial sustainability methods, 4) creating a member database, 5) using an EXCEL spreadsheet for attendance.
Note: The Board discussed additional items on June 18, unrecorded: 1) preparations for next season, 2) final feedback from Chase Arnold, head of MCNW, 3) planning the move to Wedgewood Presbyterian Church, 4) concert venue fee increases, and 5) updates on grants, website development, and budget status.
