Approval of Minutes
The August 20, 2022 Board Meeting Minutes were approved.

Covid Policy
Music Center has no plans to change their Covid policy until January 2023. They are requiring only masks, not vaccinations. For Rain City Symphony members masks and vaccines are still required. The wind players should still take tests prior to coming to rehearsal. The Board will visit the policy again at the December meeting.

Membership Report
A majority of members have paid. Fifty-two members have donated and about 12 have not. October 4th will be the last night to request donations.

Grants Report
The grant applications are asking how we are addressing diversity and anti-racism. The Board felt the adoption of an Anti-Racism Policy was prudent. The Gennie presented the Board with this anti-racism policy, which was unanimously approved.

Anti-racism Policy:

Rain City Symphony values diversity, equity, and inclusion and is deeply committed to providing equal opportunities and treatment to all of our participants, staff, and patrons. All of our decisions regarding our participants and staff are made without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, age, national origin, citizenship, veteran, military, marital status, sensory, physical, or mental disability, genetic information, or any other status or characteristics protected by applicable law.

4Culture Grant
Wednesday, October 11th is the deadline for the 4Culture grant. To support this grant, we will survey the Board members and staff see how they self identify to help support our anti-racism policy.

Music Director Report
Teresa will be retiring from Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra, however she will continue to conduct us. She hopes to continue to have access to their music library.

MCNW Issues
Two issues were discussed regarding the MCNW, access to the building and missing chairs. We have an access key code for the Music Center, but it's only good on Wednesday nights. Hanan, Gennie and Teresa need to enter the Center at other times. Doug will discuss this with Chas. The chairs have been disappearing from the rehearsal hall. Chas looked for the missing chairs in rooms on the first floor and in the practice rooms. He must have found some, because it seemed like there were more chairs in the rehearsal hall.

Publicity for Upcoming Concert
Charlotte needs program information for the upcoming concert. The publicity will be given to the United Churches Emergency Fund and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church so they can distribute it.

Nominations for Next Year's Board of Directors
The nominations for the Board beginning 2023 are Koko Morgan, Doug Potter, and Anne Warner. There is one open position available. The election will occur on November 9th at the rehearsal.

Upcoming Meetings
The General Meeting is on November 9th at the rehearsal. The next Board Meeting is Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 7:00 pm at Doug's House.
