Rain City Symphony nurtures and promotes the appreciation of music by providing quality music performances in the Puget Sound region. We have concerts in November, March, and June. We provide amateur musicians with an orchestral experience in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Open to intermediate and advanced strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion, Rain City Symphony plays standard orchestral repertoire.

French Accents

Our concerts this season focus on French music with each program featuring a composition by a French composer.

We present Massenet’s Cendrillon Suite, which consists of ballet music from his opera Cendrillon. We also feature Wagner’s Lohengrin Prelude to Act III and Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 (“Unfinished").

We present Louise Farrenc’s Overture No. 1 composed in 1834. We also feature Charles Tomlinson Griffes’ Poem for Flute and Orchestra with soloist Sandy Saathoff and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Tale of the Tsar Saltan Suite.
