Kieran Matz

Kieran is in his third year as the principal oboist in the Youth Symphony of the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO) under Dr. Teresa Metzger-Howe, and is the 2017 winner of the BYSO Concerto Competition. Kieran is also an oboist in the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra (YSO) under Maestro Stephen Radcliffe, and YSO's alto saxophonist. Kieran is headed back to the State WMEA Solo and Ensemble competition as the 2018 Eastshore District winner, having placed 2nd in the state in 2017. In addition to his work with these youth orchestras, Kieran performs with the Bellevue College Jazz Combos under Jim Sisko. He plays viola under Andrew Kam at Sammamish High School in Bellevue. Kieran studies oboe under Dan Williams in Seattle.
